MEET PAUL

Picture
Paul Snider grew up in Johnson County and has chosen to raise his family here because of the quality of life that makes our community unique.  A part of what makes Johnson County special is Johnson County Community College and how it impacts students and businesses.

A graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School, Paul attended Washburn University in Topeka on a football scholarship, graduating with a degree in mass media.  His time in Topeka led to a job as a legislative and regulatory consultant for AT&T, and later, public affairs roles with KCP&L, Brightergy, a commercial rooftop solar company, and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, which provides service under the RideKC brand.  While at all his roles, Paul worked with community stakeholders to advance local issues.

Recently Paul started Snider Public Affairs, a consulting firm focused on government affairs, communications and public affairs for businesses, communities and nonprofit organizations.

Community involvement has always been an important part of Paul’s personal and professional life.  An Eagle Scout, Paul understands what makes communities successful.  Active in several chambers of commerce, Paul has worked extensively with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, serving in leadership roles for many policy efforts.

Paul is currently on the board of United Community Services of Johnson County and is an appointed commissioner for the Johnson County Parks & Recreation District.  In 2016 and 2017, Paul chaired the JCPRD board as it advanced plans for new parks in DeSoto, Gardner/Edgerton and Prairie Village.

He is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Kansas and has completed programs at the Kansas Leadership Center.  He has participated with Rotary, YouthFriends and other community organizations.  In addition to his BA from Washburn, he received a Master’s in Business Administration from Baker University.

Paul and his wife Alice live in Lenexa with their three daughters who are enrolled in elementary, middle and high schools in the Olathe School District.
